Review

So, all the characters played by actors are very promising, and it feels so true to its 100 per cent that one will get connected to the movie. However, the limelight of the stage is taken by those eyes filled with spark and charm in it and feels it has never left us is Sushant Singh Rajput’s character, Manny or Immanuel Rajkumar Junior.

Truly, Sushant’s presence in the movie right from it’s first frame to last is magical, and his acting is a masterpiece. He will make you laugh and cry both at the same time. On the other hand, Sanjana Sanghi, who made her debut in the leading role, gives a commendable and confident performance. The supporting cast, especially Swastika Mukherjee and Saswata Chatterjee as Kizie’s parents, are superb.

Sahil Vaid, who plays the role of Sushant’s close friend (Jagdish Pandey), was a surprise. He, too, will make you laugh and cry at the same time, and the cameo role done by Saif Ali Khan (Abhimanyu Vaid Veer) is amazing too.

The soundtrack composed by A.R Rahman and lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya is crafted with soulful and foot-tapping music, especially Taare Ginn and the title track Dil Bechara. The cinematography done by Satyajit Pande, especially those in Paris sequences were a feast to eyes.

Director Mukesh Chhabra and writers Suprotim Sengupta and Shashank Khaitan’s work portrays a beautiful narrative, the Bengali touch to the dialogues was also noticeable.

The movie will make you cry with a smile and on your face; leave your heart heavy with emotions; remind you about how commendable actor Sushant was, which justifies his legacy of work. Dil Bechara will always be remembered as Sushant’s swan song. Watch this movie simply to witness Sushant Singh Rajput’s last act–a brilliant one.
