PTI Report Is Fake, No Action By Indian Army Says LT. Gen Paramjit Singh

On Thursday, Indian Army Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh said that the Indian Army had not conducted any action in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

“Reports of Indian Army’s action in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) across the Line of Control are fake,” Lieutenant General Paramjit Singh said.

On November 19, fake report regarding India’s pinpoint strike at Pakistan had grappled the news. This story was covered by a news agency called Press Trust India (PTI); it was based on analysis of the Ceasefire Violations (CFV) that took place on November 13.

The DGMO had to make a statement because these news reports suggested that the Indian Army had carried out strikes against terrorists groups around the border in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

These reports which in turn became rumours suggested that the Army conducted “pinpoint strikes” on suspected terror launchpads inside Pakistan-occupied Kashmir surfaced.

The reported strikes were in actuality a befitting response to Pakistani military’s effortless strategy to infiltrate as many terrorists into India before the onset of harsh winters, sources in the security establishment said on Thursday.

The Pakistani troops targeted several border outposts (BoPs) and few hamlets in areas of Manyari, Sapwal and Karol Krishna on late Wednesday night, which lead to an effective retaliation by the BSF, said the officials.

A woman suffered injuries at Manyari village amidst the exchange of firing which continued till early morning of Thursday, they said.
This sudden incident has triggered panic and fear among residents living near the border.

“We have been facing heavy firing and shelling each night. It has become a regular feature”, Manyari resident Kuldeep said.

Lately, our neighbouring country’s Army is seen to have aggressively targeted civilians on the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC) by stooping down to the levels of continuous firing by heavy-calibre artillery guns to support pushing in of terrorists into Jammu and Kashmir, they claimed.

Furthermore the sources had said that the Indian intelligence has been successful at digging and the Indian Army has vigorously conducted precise targeted strikes to neutralize the effect of Pakistani and foreign terrorists on LoC, the collateral damage has been reported to be negligible in the operations undertaken.
