Singer Shruti Sargam is the best example of women fulfilling their dreams, she is an inspiration to many. I had this amazing opportunity to interview this talented singer. I feel honored that she could take time to answer some questions and give us a little more information about her.

Currently she is pursuing PHD in Human Resource Management from FMS (Faculty of Management Studies), University of Delhi. Granddaughter of Late Padmshree Pdt. Siyaram Tiwari, this young lady was born into a musical family and started showing vocal prowess at a very young age.

She grew up learning Hindustani classical music from her grandfather, Shri Birendra Mohan Pandey. Shruti holds a Sangeet Shiromani degree from Delhi University besides having completed a senior diploma in Hindustani Classical Vocal Music. Though from a classical background, Shruti’s favorite genres are Sufi, Ghazal and Contemporary Bollywood.

During her college days Shruti participated and won in many music competitions like Sur Sartaj, Sangam Kala and Idea Rocks India! This is not it. Shruti has been doing corporate and college gigs and she has performed for the Indian Navy too. She also works as a freelance vocalist and lends her voice to radio and TV jingles and has sung for renowned brands such as Discovery Channel’s Incredible India Campaign, Tupperware, JK Tyres, Mega Cabs to name a few.

Isn’t her music background just amazing! This woman is just unstoppable. Recently she has recorded a song with Bollywood’s most well-known singer Shri. Udit Narayan for an upcoming movie and soon you will see her new venture, a Sufi Cover Project, which is in collaboration with artists from Pakistan and UAE. Well this just sounds amazing and we cannot wait for it!

Shruti believes that we should all take some time out for our passion irrespective of our busy schedules and should never give up on our dreams. Who knows what’s in store for us!
