4 Arrested For Robbing Man Of INR 50,000 In Delhi: Police
New Delhi: Four members of a gang were arrested on Monday for allegedly robbing INR 50,000 from a shop owner in Delhi’s Rohini area, police said.
On June 23, the police received information that armed men, had robbed a money exchanger and phone recharge dealer — Deepak Kumar — after entering his shop, they said.
During the investigation, police came to know that the accused were not using their mobiles phones but were communicating with their contacts via phones of unknown people. They had had also covered their faces with masks to conceal their identities, officials said.
Police followed their contacts and received a tip-off that the accused will commit another robbery at Rajeev Nagar Extension.
Following the tip-off, a police team reached the spot. While one accused got arrested another accused sustained injury during a shootout between the accused and the police. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.
On the disclosure by the arrested accused, two other were also arrested, an officer said.
The accused were identified as Ankit Sharma (24), Mohit (20), Himanshu Dabas (20), and Nitesh Patel (18), all residents of the Mubarakpur Dabas area in Delhi.
Two pistols, one air gun and 15 live cartridges were recovered from their possession, police said.
