What Is #Plants4SSR? Who All Are Involved In This Campaign?

The untimely death of the Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput at the age of 34 made the whole social media weep for months. Family, friends, and fans to couldn’t accept that Sushant, who was known for his cheerful character, could take his life. They wanted to know the truth behind it and doubted that Sushant was murdered. Following the death of the late actor many hashtags such as #JusticeForSushant, #CBIForSSR, #Warriors4SSR and others started trending in social media.  The latest of them is #Plants4SSR which was launched by Shweta Singh Kirti, Sushant’s sister.

What is #Plants4SSR?

Last year Sushant had penned down a list of 50 dreams that he wanted to fulfil during his lifetime. However, the untimely death of the actor cut short many of his dreams, including the one to plant 1000 trees. The late actor’s family, friends and fans participated in fulfilling this dream of his with #Plants4SSR campaign.

Shweta took to social media and encouraged everyone to join to fulfil one of the dreams of the late actor and thus the first initiative towards the campaign #Plants4SSR was launched.

 

The actor had tried to fulfil some of his dreams like Spend a day at Disneyland, Learning fly, Ambidextrous archer are to name a few.

Director Mukesh Chhabra, Actor Ankita Lokhande and friend Mahesh Shetty took their Instagram handle to join the initiative.

Mahesh Shetty who’s a dear friend and co-star of Sushant right from his TV days during Pavitra Rishta. Planted tree in the memory of the late actor.

Mukesh Chhabra also planted a tree in the memory of Sushant as an initiative to plant 1000 trees. Mukesh Chhabra was the director of Sushant’s last movie Dil Bechara.

Ankita posted the images of her planting the trees along with her dog Hatchi and captioned as, “Hatchi and mamma, my partner in almost everything, planting plants, it’s our way to remember him by fulfilling his dream.”

‘More than 1 lakh trees were planted across the globe. #Plants4SSR thank you so much for making it happen,’ was quoted and informed by Sushant’s sister, Shweta.

Along with this earlier, Shweta had organised several other initiatives like, ‘#Justice4Sushant, #CBIForSSR, #GlobalPrayers4SSR, #FeedFood4SSR, #ImmortalSushant, #WarriorRoar4SSR etc.

A campaign which was started nationally has turned out to gain engagement of fans internationally too. Fans from different parts of the world participated in fulfilling the late actor’s dream and posted pictures on their social media.

Sushant was found dead in his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai, hanging from the ceiling fan with the cause ruled as suicide. The sudden demise of the actor had left fans, family and friends shattered for so many days. Later, it was found that the cause of death is more than mere hanging, and the possibility of murder couldn’t be ruled out.

The Supreme Court on August 19 directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to investigate actor’s death case from Mumbai police. After CBI took over the case, they arrested various people along with Rhea Chakrobatry and her brother due to drugs angle in the case. The case is yet to close as further investigation is going on.
