In India, the cricket players are honored with contracts as per their performances during play on the field. The BCCI has decided to renew the contracts of the cricketers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India Committee of Administrators had a meeting in Mumbai where they decided on the plan.

The Indian cricketers are currently divided into grades of A, B, and C whereas INR 2 Crores is for Grade A, INR 1 Crore for Grade B and INR 50 Lakhs for Grade C category. However, they have decided to renovate the upcoming contracts for the players.

BCCI source was quoted as saying by India Today in a recent media interaction “It’s crucial to have the new contracts in place without which the Indian Premier League IPL player insurance policy cannot be fulfilled,”

The new contract for Indian Cricket Team:

The media house has learned that the players might be divided into grades of A+, A, B, and C where performers in all formats will be the inheritors. MS Dhoni, the former-Indian skipper, Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri, the head coach, was also a part of the debate meeting. MS Dhoni has been a main part of the Indian team and has held the top contracts even after his retirement from Test cricket.

However, Dhoni is most likely to miss out on the topmost contract this time around. Next change which might be executed is that the players won’t be entitled to an automatic contract if they make their T-20 International debut. However, they might also make the Grade C category provided they make their Test or One Day International debut.

The chief selector, MSK Prasad, has been assigned the duties to split the players before they receive the contracts. Players like Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and at present are not a part of the ODI and T-20 team. Anyhow, they will be rewarded with incentives owing to India’s superior rankings in Test cricket.
