US Department Of Defence Officially Confirms Existence Of Unidentified Flying Object (UFO)

The year 2020, or as we ‘enthusiastic’ people had called it ‘T20’, has taken the entire world for a roller coaster ride, and we are going to step into the fifth month of the year. In other words, all of us are currently experiencing the famous quote ‘Expect, the Unexpected,’ in reality.

As people are slowly coming to terms with the miserable state of the world, oil was added to the already blazing fire on Monday, April 27, 2020, when the United States Department of Defense, authorised the release of three unclassified Navy videos that show what appear to be Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs).

INSIGHT INTO THE US DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE

The US Department of Defense is the largest employer of the nation, as it has over 1.4 million active-duty personnel, 450,000 employees stationed overseas in 163 countries, 1.1 million people serving in the National Guard and Reserve forces, and others.

Due to the enormous number of past and present personnel, the US Department of Defense is also the country’s largest healthcare provider, taking care of around 10 million military members, retirees, and their families.

Its Headquarters, The Pentagon, is located at Arlington, Virginia.

THE UFO VIDEOS

“Department of Defense is releasing in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos,” The Pentagon said. “The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterised as ‘unidentified,’” the statement read.

The First sighting

One video was taken in November 2004. This footage was taken when an American fighter plane from the USS Nimitz, an aircraft carrier, stationed off the coast of San Diego, engaged with the so-called UFO over the Pacific ocean. This has been called the ‘USS Nimitz UFO Incident.’

The NEW YORK TIMES highlighted this incident in December 2017, which even included the interviews with the two pilots who had observed the encounter with the strange flying object.

The Second & Third Sightings

These videos were taken in January 2015 and showed the US Navy pilots encountering similar strange flying objects. As the nature of the sighting left the pilots ‘speechless’, they have classified it as ‘Unexplained Aerial Phenomena’ (UAP).

The NEW YORK TIMES, brought the second and third sightings of the UFOs into the spotlight in May 2019 and contained the interviews with those pilots who had spotted the UFOs.

It is to be noted that all three videos had previously been leaked. Although this prompted the Navy to confirm the same in response to a Freedom of Information Act request and the Pentagon has confirmed the authenticity of these videos earlier, April 27, 2020, is the first time these three videos have been officially released.

It said in January that some briefing material it had about the videos was classified as ‘top secret’ and would cause “exceptionally grave damage to the National Security of the United States if released.” However, there is still uncertainty about the content in the video, and as a result, it could not find a suitable conclusion.

OTHER UFO SIGHTINGS AROUND THE WORLD:

There are about 150 reported sightings worldwide everyday! 90-95 per cent of UFO sightings can be explained as natural or human-made phenomena. Several people have noticed such strange objects racing across the sky over different points of time, around the world.
A few prominent ones include:

  • The Roswell incident (1947);
  • Bright lights in the sky at Tehran, Iran (1976);
  • Colorful lights above the Rendlesham Forest, about 100 miles Northeast of London (1980);
  • The Belgium Wave, 1989-1990.

GENERAL RESPONSE:

Although this move by the US Department of Defense shook the people, this will not stop them from creating some hilarious memes. Take a look at the following, which could put a smile on your face.

Many people took to the social media platform to express their opinion on the same. Some call it as ‘alien abduction’ and ‘possible deception to rally the world into one force to fight against the extraterrestrial beings.’

Science fiction accounts for 70 per cent of all box office receipts, and the idea that ‘aliens could be with us’ has become mainstream now. Now that the US Department of Defense has declassified three of such sightings and officially released them, the real questions that could arise are “Could this be a form of deception?”, “Are there any unknown forms of life?” the most significant one, “Is this all planned and part of a bigger agenda?” Time shall tell.
