Sonia Bibi, 20, Pakistani young woman, was admitted to the hospital past month, where she reported police that her ex-lover had doused her with petrol and set her alight after she turned down his proposal.
The rejected suitor set her ablaze for refusing his marriage proposal, 45 to 50% of her body had been burned in the attack, a doctor said.
Medical staff initially told she would recover, but a doctor in Nishtar hospital of Multan said infection was set in and she died in the early morning on Tuesday.
The incident took place in a distant village of Multan district in the central province of Punjab. Police have arrested the 24-year-old suspect.
