Recently BJP MP Maneka Gandhi won the heart of netizens through her swift response to rescue an injured monkey in the capital city of Delhi.
On Twitter Bharti Jain, a journalist tagged Maneka Gandhi and asked for her help in rescuing a severely injured monkey on the roadside of central Delhi. Maneka Gandhi, a wildlife enthusiast, didn’t spare a minute to take necessary action.

Within an hour, Maneka Gandhi responded to the tweet by Thanking the journalist and also stated that she is sending a car right away. She also said that the monkey would be sent to Sanjay Gandhi Animal Care Centre for treatment and that the car will be there in a few minutes.
It seems that Maneka Gandhi is indeed speedy in her action as, within an hour of first response, the journalist confirmed that the rescue team had come to attend to the injured simian. She also thanked and said that the monkey is now in good hands.
On Tuesday afternoon Maneka Gandhi updated on twitter showing that the monkey is being treated and is on its way to complete recovery.

People for Animals (PFA), also known as People for Animals India, is India’s largest animal welfare organization that was started by Maneka Gandhi, in the year 1992.
Earlier this year in August she had introduced a hashtag #IllegalPetShops and requested the people of India to help her in an effort to identify illegal pet shops across the country.
The trade of illegal pet shops and unlicensed breeders has been carrying on in a terrible fashion and we need your help to stop it. Please send me a picture and a line about the pet shop that you've come across and tag me on twitter or instagram by using #illegalpetshops pic.twitter.com/mwM9FYbHfD

She had added a video along with it wherein she said that the government of India had passed a law saying that it was illegal for any pet shop to sell live animals, birds or fish last year, only a breeder with a licence can operate. However, this was not functioning well as disparities with local officials as they were unaware were such pet shops operate. Toward the end of the video, she requested everyone to join hands to support for a good cause.
