It’s Totally The Fear Of losing!
Open mindedness has its own interpretations and answers. Before we research on open-mindedness, let’s discuss a cricket match; a tournament held between two countries. How can one call it a cricket match when no one present in the stadium watches a match, but take sides and don’t want the other side to win?
From this example, one will think I’m being irrelevant. But, let’s now see my point of view. If it were a cricket match, there wouldn’t have been rifts and bouts created. And to explain this better I will say when one starts to lose a battle they become insecure and amidst the insecurity they start discriminating and exploiting. All this starts right at the grass root level, a kid is always thought that the laborers will always be laborers and should be treated that way.
To get above the situation Mr. VP Singh thought of Mandal commission, his belief and ideals were to let equality prevail. However, as years passed by, the rules and regulations were relaxed and now because of the law and order the differences have grown to an extent that is unimaginable. In the race for equality, the rich and the poor have always built a wall; the wall of sympathy and apathy. Is this wall, all we need? no, we need to empower the needy and help the others who are in need.
If your car driver’s son is an expert in business would you mind hiring him? Yes, you will, you surely will. It isn’t your mistake; this is how a human’s psychology works. Consciously is this right to do? No. It’s human nature to discriminate and degrade another human who is excelling at the same job you are in.
This happens because you start to build an insecurity and a shell inside of your head. You feel showing him down or ill-treating him will make you a better person, this attitude will make you a man with no ideals, a man with no belief and upbringing. Quoting another example here, if baba Ramdev or Shri Shri Ravishankar are competing with the MNCs , most of us think they are corrupt. For the sake of god, the world is becoming so immune to the good stuff that one forgets to appreciate it. We are so fed up of good things that we corrupt the minds of those who think good and truth must prevail. Ruthless behavior and attitude of a man has never helped him raise to higher standards.
Frankly, if I were asked to fund a talented kid, who lived in the slums. I would have generously supported that kid and helped him/her grow to greater manifolds. Not all of us feel this way. This gives rise to two reasons, one being you are too naïve and the other would be you can’t primarily analyze the situation around you. If you can’t analyze then possibly you grew up in a closed environment, where no one forced you to think and analyze.
Today most of the kids don’t know what they are doing and why they have to live. All they know is they must score a few centum, screw up their lives, either suicide or become drug addicts. Not one kid fairly knows politics and they have not a single idea as to why a protest is happening, all they know is their friend is RSVP-ing the event so must they. In this fast moving world, one can’t wait for wonders to happen but one has to create those wonders all by themselves. To realize that point I just made will be a very difficult and a late thing. All said and done, what are the reasons for such ideals?
Don’t dare to blame the old school ideas. Those were never wrong; only that those were interpreted wrong. Today the Netas standup only for their own selfish needs. The humanity element is lost, no one feels they are responsible partly in developing the nation and its ideologies. To top it all I would say open mindedness can’t be achieved fully but can be done partially. Then why not do so and try to build a noble society, where everyone is equal and everyone get that encouragement they need.
Let’s create a society where the greed element is demolished and humanity be established with much greater force and power! Because when the greed element is demolished the insecurity and instability is also demolished, when all of these elements are demolished. Humanity is restored and a noble society with an open mind is achieved.
