Thank you Pakistan for calling us a terror organisation: Shiv Sena
A couple of days after Pakistan urged the international community to take notice of “terrorist activities of Shiv Sena”, the party has thanked Islamabad for calling it a terror organisation and said it will never compromise on issues concerning the neighbouring country.
An editorial in Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece – Saamna – stated, “If Pakistan considers us as its enemy, it is a matter of pride. It is like getting Mahavir Chakra.”
“Shiv Sena chief (Bal Thackeray) had said that it was a matter of pride for him to be in the hit list of Pakistani terror groups. Pakistan’s appeal from the international community against Shiv Sena is a stamp on our pure nationalism,” the article titled – Shiv Sena ko Mahavir Chakra, Shukriya Pakistan said.
Referring to the incident where some Shiv Sena workers had blackened the face of Observer Research Foundation (ORF) chairman Sudheendra Kulkarni over the launch of a book by former Pakistani foreign minister Khurshid Mahmood Kasuri, Pakistan on Friday had asked the international community to take notice of its “terror activities”.
“I agree with you that the international community should take note of the terrorist activities of this organisation. We have repeatedly expressed our concern on its activities,” Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said.
Last month, Sena had threatened to disrupt Pakistani ghazal singer Ghulam Ali’s concerts in Mumbai and Pune forcing the organisers to cancel them. Shiv Sena’s protest had even forced cancellation of a meeting between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan and BCCI chief Shashank Manohar. The two were to meet in Mumbai to discuss a possibility of a bilateral series between India and Pakistan in December.
