Now The Accused To Advice PM: Chidambaram To Modi

While the economy goes down plunges deeper, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi seems to have now come back to his senses, after his world tour with a motive of increased FDIs Narendra Modi met economists and experts to discuss the growth of our country last week.

Modi tweeted last week, “The Union Budget represents the aspirations of 130 crore Indians and lays out the path towards India’s development. I invite you all to share your ideas and suggestions for this year’s Budget on MyGov.”

Turning towards the public for suggestions now, the Modi government seems to have realised his roots and come to the people they once blamed for the economic slowdown.

In September 2019, Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman blamed the millennials for the clump down in the automobile sector. With this approach by the government to ask the public for suggestions concerning budget, life seems to have come to a full circle for the government. The ones they once accused have now being asked for suggestions.

Amid widespread riots over the Amended Citizenship Act, Congress pioneer P Chidambaram offered a “recommendation” to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a progression of tweets, a day after PM Modi said that the new law won’t “grab anybody’s citizenship”. PM Modi should “select five of his most articulate critics and have a televised Q and A session with them. Let the people listen to the discussion and reach their conclusions on CAA,” the Congress chief wrote.

In the series of tweets, he also wrote current economic condition: “The circle of incompetent management is complete. Mr Narendra Modi’s government started in July 2014 with CPI inflation at 7.39%. In December 2019 it was 7.35% (sic).”

Furthermore, he questioned about the poll promise of “Acche din” (better days) stating about the inflation in the country and asked Is this the achhe din promised by BJP.

Former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram on January 13, 2020, proposed that Modi have a broadcast banter on the issue.

In a progression of tweets, the senior Congress pioneer said the Prime Minister ought to consider discussing the issue with five of his most well-spoken pundits.

Chidambaram was arrested on August 21 2019, in connection to the corruption and money laundering case (INX Media Case).

It is kind of a subsumed irony to see an accused attempting to advise the Prime Minister on grounds as sensitive as the case of Citizenship Amendment Act.

As the government has been seen turning its course every now and then, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to us if the Modi government agrees to Chidambaram’s advice on the issue as mentioned earlier.

Time shall tell us what fate holds for us Indians. Will the accused be the advisors again? Or will the government pull up and take charge by themselves?
