Coronavirus Pandemic: Countries Which Are Tested Negative For Virus

Coronavirus pandemic is currently warping itself around the globe; however, there are some countries that are unaffected by the virus unlike the rest of the world?

The novel Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, has spread to approximately 197 countries and union territories, but it has been tested negative in at least 5 countries as on March 24. While several countries have announced some suspected cases of COVID-19, some of them left out a sigh of relief when the tests came back negative.

Here are the countries, where the coronavirus cases have been tested negative:

1. Republic of Palau

Palau is an archipelago of over 500 islands, part of the Micronesia region in the western Pacific Ocean. As per the official report, an older woman of about 73 years, who had travelled from the US was suspected to have the virus. Her samples were sent to Taiwan, and when the report came, she was tested negative for the virus.

2. Tonga

Tonga is a Polynesian kingdom of more than 170 South Pacific islands. A 21-year-old woman was suspected to be the country’s first case tested negative for the virus. She was admitted into hospitals, and her samples were sent to Australia as well as New Zealand for confirmation of the case. As of now, the country has tested two suspects; both resulted negative for the virus.

3. Republic of the Marshall Islands

The Marshalls, a group of islands and atolls about halfway between Australia and Hawaii, has ordered cruise ships and yachts not to dock at its ports. The Islands reported a suspected case of a 66-year-old man, whose samples which was taken and tested at the Hawaii State Lab were reported to be negative. The country has imposed travel bans on several countries including China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Germany and Iran.

4. Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands, a nation of hundreds of islands in the South Pacific, has many WWII-era sites, reported four suspected cases of Coronavirus on board of a container ship. Samples taken from these four cases were sent to Australia for testing and announced to be negative.

5. Lao People’s Democratic Republic

Loa a Southeast Asian Country had reported having more than 50 suspected cases of Coronavirus, all of which have tested negative. Samples taken from the suspected cases have been tested three times at their laboratories. Besides, samples from the suspected cases tested in Laos labs were sent to WHO’s laboratories in Australia.

The government has implemented strict scanning measures at all entry points in the country and imposed 14-day quarantine for anyone arriving with symptoms of the disease.
