Tabassum Fatima Hashmi aka Tabu is the latest entry in the Rohit Shetty’s franchise for Golmaal Again. This film is the fourth instalment of the previous Golmaal series. Tabu, who is known for her intense roles in Drishyam and Haider will be seen doing a comedy role after 17 years.
The last time she played a comedy role was in Hera Pheri alongside Akshay Kumar and Sunil Shetty as her co-stars. Kareena Kapoor was again going to be cast in this film but due to her maternity issues the role as passes on to Parineeti. This time the Golmaal family has casted Ajay Devgan as the lead male, Parineeti Chopra as the love interest of Ajay, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tushhar Kapoor and none another than the Go Goa Gone lead Kunal Khemu.
According to the reports, the only reason Tabu did not take up a comedy role was not because she wasn’t comfortable in this genre but because she wasn’t offered any good comedy roles. If she nails her character in Golmaal, Tabu is definitely going down in the list of versatile actors of Bollywood. Comedy isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but Tabu has proved in her previous movies that she is a tough fight for all leading actresses out there. The 45-year-old actress is pumped up for her upcoming film which will hit the theatres in Diwali this year.
