Yes! I know 2020 has been a terrible year when it comes to meeting our friends, loved ones or relatives. But it’s the need of the hour, and we’re in this together keeping ourselves and others safe.
So, let us list down some of the favourite Bollywood movies that you must watch during this lockdown struck friendship day.
Golmaal: Fun Unlimited (2006)
First of the quartet, this Rohit Shetty film will make you laugh to the core of heart. The casting of this film is legendary, and some iconic scenes are never to forget. The bond of these four friends shown in the film teaches us how we can live, laugh, love but also make fun of while living like a family.
2. Rang De Basanti (2006)
Remember those late-night drives on Delhi roads? Well, this movie made us fall in love with Delhi along with reincarnating our faith in friendships. From getting crazily drunk on the edge of a cliff to tearing shirts and running towards a plane while shouting the throat out, this film made us laugh, cry, love our country and our friends a little more. This multi-starrer is the ‘Masti ki Pathshala’ where we all want to spend the rest of our lives.
3. Dil Chahta Hai (2001)
Where did the trend of ‘Goa trip’ come into existence? Yes, it was this Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut, that made us all convince our parents for that one trip to Goa, a lifetime experience. Every millennial has this film in their hearts and especially those who are still seeking the permission for that one Goa trip!
4. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013)
Aren’t we all excited for our best friend’s wedding? The trekking trips with them? The long fun train journeys which would have been so boring if it wasn’t for them! Roaming around in the streets of Manali, and having stupid fights with people. This movie teaches us how we might get busy with our lives, how we might not be able to talk to our friends everyday, but they will always be there whenever you need, and how some friendships never change.
5. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (2011)
Every movie which is mentioned here hits in some or the other way, but ZNMD will always have a special place in everyone’s heart. The bond which we believe from our college/school times and expect to last life long is described perfectly in this movie. Right from your travel goals to attempting those adventurous sports like skydiving, deep-sea diving, running after those bulls and exploring a country like Spain with your group of friends is the dream of every trio.
6. 3 idiots (2009)
This movie is to all those students who during their college time were living in a hostel, where they would have started off by being strangers to each other- in the initial year of their college days to unlimited memories of those days, simple mess food, one night before preparation for exams, asking for notes from the nerdy student who we use to rag/bully the whole year, stinky bathrooms etc, and eventually during the end of the final year while graduating with a degree in our hand and leaving the college with a strong life-long bond is described in this movie to most of the extent wherein you can relive your ‘college-hostel’ days again.
7. Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 (2015)
Luv Ranjan’s sequel Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 was even a bigger hit than its first part. Much like the first movie, three friends who are foolish enough to fall under the prey of three women and the relationship of all three friends ends up, and they are all on their own again. This signifies those parts of our life when we prioritize our relationship even bigger than our friendship, but at the end when one person leaves the other from the relationship the pain strikes right into our heart, and then we realize how true and important our friendship was.
So during this friendship day, which movie are you planning to re-watch with your friends?
Happy Friendship Day! Cheers
