#1: You have done fiction and non-fiction series. What difference do you find in the two as an actor?
In fictional shows, you can play any character and experiment with emotions. You might find some scenes that you can’t relate to. In non-fiction, you play yourself. You put yourself out there for everyone to see. Both are equally challenging!
#2: What is more important to you, getting fame in the audience or getting faith of the director? Which one of the two according to you is harder to achieve?
I don’t think both are mutually exclusive. If your director trusts you and has faith In you, you understand his vision. The end product will be good and the audience will trust you. Good work created in sync is appreciated by the audience.
#3: Is there any kind of cinema/show that you would never like to do or what do you think your dream role would be like?
I’m still finding my footing in the industry. I’m in nascent stages to even consider what I will not do. I take up every project on merit. I would love to play Rani Mukherjee’s character in Black.
#4: Tell us something about your background. Also, when did you decide to get into this industry? What made you take that decision?
I wanted to pursue dancing and I was very lucky to get D3 (Dil Dosti Dance). While playing the character of Sharon in D3, I started enjoying acting as well. I just decided that this is what I want to pursue to express my emotions.
#5: You have worked in popular TV Shows like Dil, Dosti, Dance, Ishqbaaz, Pyaar tune kya kiya and yeh hai Ishq. How has been the experience?
It has been very rewarding. I know it sounds very cliched but I have discovered myself with each character I have played.
#6: What is the next project you are working on? Can we expect to see more characters like Sharon and Ishaana in future?
I have a short film lined up next. I can’t speak much about it but I’m sure everyone will enjoy the character I play. I’m very happy having launched my YouTube channel. It is a platform to express myself and speak about things that are close to me.
#7: What inspiring message would you give to those who are struggling in this field currently?
It is a tough field and it is very challenging. However, the love and appreciation you get for your work are so encouraging and addictive. It just fuels you to go ahead and pick up challenging work.
