Article 15: Ayushmann Breaking The Glass Ceiling, Yet Again!

Article 15 (1) and (2) of the Indian Constitution prevent the state from discriminating any native on the ground of religion, race, caste, sex, place of birth or any of them. From article 15(3) onwards, the constitution commences guarding any discrimination. It is essential, as well.

Recently, “Article 15” is a forthcoming Indian Hindi-language police procedural movie directed by Anubhav Sinha, produced by Zee Studios and Benaras Media Works. The filming commenced on 1 March 2019 in Lucknow.

Gaurav Solanki and Anubhav Sinha composed the movie. It includes celebrities like Ayushmann Khurrana, Isha Talwar, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Manoj Pahwa. The film is based on Article 15 of the Indian Constitution. “Article 15” takes inspiration from real life events. Ayushmann Khurrana, the protagonist, is playing a police officer in the film.

The teaser begins with a voiceover from Ayushmann who addresses Article 15 from the Constitution of India as it provides the people ‘Samaanata ka adhikaar’/ Right to Equality which states that no person will be discriminated based on religion, caste, creed or gender by the state. However, the images that comply background is not the same anymore in the country.

The front look advertisement for the film was revealed on Monday. “Article 15” is invigorated by the Badaun rape incident. Conversing to ANI, Manoj Pahwa who is performing a vital role in the movie, said, “This film is not exclusively based on the heinous crime that took place in Badaun where two girls were raped and hanged. We can say that that incident inspires this film and we have included some chunks of it.”
