Top 10 unseen intimate scenes of Bollywood movies

When it comes to sex scenes, Bollywood has mostly found it difficult to get one passed by the Censor Board over the years. While a movie in a theatre is mostly sanitised, the censored scenes from many films have trickled their way into the internet. In the recent past, while the Censor Board has been at the receiving end of much flak for letting some sex scenes pass, with even more stringent laws in place these days, the scissors are coming down really hard on the film-rolls. Here are ten of the sex scenes in the recent Bollywood movies that were edited and then the film was given a certificate.

Heroine

This Madhur Bhandarkar film, with Kareena Kapoor as its lead, also suffered some editing at the Censor Board’s hands. Apart from some scenes where Kareena is seen smoking, a sex scene featuring Arjun Rampal and Kareena was edited out from Heroine.

Jism 2

Sunny Leone’s first Bollywood film had raised many expectations (and other parts) in men all over the country. And the steaming, scorching hot trailers made sure that the audience’s curiosity was upped to high levels. However, once in front of the Censor Board, the film suffered a few cuts – some of Sunny and Randeep Hooda’s lovemaking scenes were shortened to half their original length before letting the film into the theatres. However, the DVD of the film was touted to have all the deleted sex scenes. In one of the sex scenes, Sunny Leone’s breast, too, was bared. This, again, was noticed by the Censor Board, and the scene was asked  to be chopped off.

Shootout at Wadala

John Abraham and Kangana Ranaut’s steamy sex scene, along with the numerous cuss words used in the film earned an ‘A’ certificate for Shootout At Wadala. However, despite the ‘Adult’ tag, the Censor Board deleted-edited-shortened John and Kangana’s on-screen lovemaking session by considerable amount of time.

Ragini MMS 2

When a film has a porn star as its leading heroine, one expects a good amount of sex scenes. However, the Censor Board played spoilsport yet again, and chopped off certain sex scenes from the film. And Sunny Leone’s second film in Bollywood, too, landed at the theatres in a somewhat cleansed form.

Dedh Ishqiya

In this Ishqiya sequel, the Censor Board had ordered a scene featuring Arshad Warsi to be deleted from the film. However, despite the board’s orders, director Vishal Bhardwaj retained this scene, where Warsi visits a brothel, and the act got him some flak from the board. The versions of Dedh Ishqiya, which are available online – pirated ones, mostly – feature the scene in more detail. The Censor Board also received much criticism for passing some of Dedh Ishqiya’s sex scenes.

Miss Lovely

Despite being acclaimed all over the world, in numerous film festivals, director Ashim Ahluwalia was asked by the Censor Board to make 157 cuts in the film, including sex scenes. The film starred Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Niharika Singh in lead roles, and at a point of time, the director was unsure about even releasing the film in India, since he felt that toning down the film too much, as per the CBFC diktat, would end in losing the film’s basic essence.

Zindagi 50-50

Veena Malik’s much-talked-about film, Zindagi 50-50, was one that had numerous bold scenes. Veena played a prostitute in the film, and sex scenes from the film were asked to be edited out. The Censor Board cleared the film with an ‘A’ certificate after the scenes in question were deleted.

Saheb Biwi aur Gangster

Randeep Hooda and Mahie Gill’s several steamy sex scenes were frowned upon by the Censor Board, and a somewhat diluted version of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Saheb Biwi aur Gangster was released in theatres. There were other intimate scenes, too, in the film, featuring Jimmy Sheirgill and Shreya Narayan’s love-making. The versions of the film, which are available online, however, had all the deleted sex scenes.

Raaz 3

The Censor Board got to weilding its scissors yet again, before Raaz 3 was to hit the theatres. The movie, starrign Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta featured several steamy lovemaking scenes, between Bipasha and Emraan, and Esha and Emraan. The sex scenes were ordered to be edited before the film was cleared for the halls.

Murder

Mallika Sherawat, Emraan Hashmi and Ashmit Patel’s 2004 film, Murder, received an A certificate from the Censor Board after the makers shortened some of the sex scenes in the film. Mallika’s too-hot-to-handle role in the film, too, was toned down somewhat before the film was released in theatres.
