This Startup Will Pay Rs.1 lakh For Sleeping 9 Hours

You read it right. Get paid Rs 1 lakh to sleep for nine hours in the luxury of your own house? It sounds a bit crazy, right? However, it is real. A Bengaluru-based online sleep solutions company Wakefit.co has come up with this unique opportunity, called the ‘Wakefit Sleep Internship’, for interested applicants, who are ready to display their sleeping abilities for nine hours every night, for 100 days.

Wakefit while inviting candidates for the internship program quotes on their website, “Think you can avoid binging on your favourite shows every night and just sleep for 9 hours instead? Then you could be the ideal candidate we are looking for.”

As part of this internship, shortlisted candidates can work from the comfort of their homes and nap on the finest of mattresses, which will be given by Wakefit. The company will also provide their ‘Sleep Interns’ with sophisticated fitness and sleep tracker and regular counselling sittings from sleep experts.

The job description given for this is interesting, as they mentioned, “just sleep” in it. Ideal applicants should be able to fall asleep within 10-20 minutes of hitting the pillow and should possess the innate skill to fall asleep at the slightest given opportunity.

Moreover, the preferred candidate should be able to resist binge-watching shows at bedtime also ignore phone notification and sleep blissfully.

Chaitanya Ramalingegowda, Director and Co-founder, Wakefit.co stated that their biggest motivation is to inspire people to sleep better as with the fast lane of modern life people tend to lose sleep. This will not only affect their health adversely but also productivity and quality of life. Through this initiative, they are taking another step towards making sleep an integral part of maintaining a work-life balance in our lives.

They are planning to select five-eight lucky winners who would be ideal for this job. Selected candidates will be paid a stipend of Rs 1 lakh after the data is shared with Wakefit.
