India’s First Bio-CNG Tractor Launch: Public-Private Partnership Initiative To Save Billions Of Rupees In Fuel Costs.

New Delhi, July 12 (With Inputs From Agencies): Rawmatt Industries Pvt Ltd is Nagpur based organization that carries out various business activities. This organization has initiated this thought to reduce pollution by offering bio-CNG and other forms of natural gas. As the popularity of CNG’s has been growing due to their cost-effectiveness and being one of the cleanest fuels in the market today due to the lower emission of carbon content. CNG produces very little emission and contains very few pollutants as compared to any other fuel.

The launch of India’s first bio-CNG tractor took place on February 12, 2021, at Motilal Nehru Palace in New Delhi. The Road Transport and  Highway (RTH) Minister, Shri Nitin Gadkari unveiled the bio-CNG tractor. The Minister tweeted, ‘ Bio-CNG run tractors will make India’s farmers Aatma Nirbhar, reduce pollution.’ According to the Minister of RTH, it will improve the livelihood of farmers by saving more than $1 trillion on fuel costs per annum.   The ceremony took place in the presence of Narendra Singh Tomar, Dharmendra Pradhan, Parshottam Rupala, and General V.K. Singh.

These revolutionary tractors are manufactured in the absence of oxygen and constitute the use of different gases, emerging from the decomposition of agricultural wastes, manure, municipal wastes, plant matter, sewage, green or food wastes. When this mixture of different bio-wastes is processed together, it is referred to as bio-compressed natural gas (bio-CNG).  In India, bio-CNG can overcome the wide usage of CNG and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) due to its variety of applications.

Kaustubh Gupta, CEO of Rawmatt Industries said to ANI, “It is our objective to make India’s air free of fuel-related pollutants and make way for a greener, cleaner, and healthier future. And also to strengthen India’s CNG program for a cleaner, and healthier future.”  Kaustubh Gupta, Son of Padmesh Gupta of Gupta Coal, is the current Advisor of MRN Group for the building of bio-CNG plants.

He is an experienced entrepreneur who holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from James Cook University, along with years of experience in the Oil & Energy industry as well as in business development. He even engaged in work towards sustainable development such as converting farm waste to bio-CNG along with the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC).

Rawmatt Industries PVT Ltd has come up with the unique initiative to help farmers buy Bio-CNG tractors by using Paryavaran cards. The payments credited to these Paryavaran cards are in exchange for paddy straw submissions, which can be further used for cash withdrawal by the farmers. This initiative makes bio-CNG a cost-effective solution to the farmers at the nationwide level.

Such a Public-Private partnerships initiative will help achieve India’s Sustainable Development Goals(SDG) such as SDG 7 (Affordable and clean energy), SDG9 (Industry innovation and Infrastructure) & SDG13(climate action).
