Gandhis Can’t Accept Anyone Outside Their Family Can Run India: Arun Jaitley

After starting his government’s final push for GST (Goods and Services Tax) bill in the Parliament, Finance Minister of India Shri Arun Jaitley today hit out at Congress President Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi over pointless protests by the Congress, saying they could not digest anyone else is ruling the nation.

Jaitley said, “They have taken the 2014 loss very badly. The Congress and their top two leaders are unable to believe that anyone outside the Gandhi family can rule India. It is high time that they accept the fact and drop their pessimistic tactics.”

Mrs. Gandhi has declined the offer to call off her party’s protests over senior BJP leaders who are involved in the Vyapam and Lalit Modi controversies. The Congress has asked the government to terminate Sushma Swaraj the Foreign Minister of India for helping the then cricket boss Lalit Modi.

The Congress party is in “self-destruct mode.”Jaitley added.

“During their tenure, their policies were a burden and it continues to be a burden on the financial condition of the nation in the Opposition,” Arun Jaitley said.

He accused the Congress party of going back on its own words on GST.

“The Congress proposed the initial in the year 2006 and introduced GST in 2011, they failed to bring a consensus. In less than a year time, PM Modi’s NDA (National Democratic Alliance) brought about a consent,” Arun said.

There were repeated disruptions in Parliament today as the government introduced the Goods and Services Tax proposal, with just two more days left in the monsoon session.

The house of the elders was adjourned seconds after the Goods and Services Tax bill was introduced, as the Congress refused to stop its protests in the Parliament to allow a fruitful discussion.

The Goods and Services Tax bill will enable one national sales tax to replace a pattern of taxes in states.
