Bollywood actor/comedian Deven Verma no more

Veteran Bollywood actor, director and producer Deven Verma died here at the age of 77, following a heart attack and kidney failure. Deven Verma took his last breath around 2 a.m. at his home in Pune, the city of his birth.

He is best known for his comic roles and the legend has worked with directors like Basu Chatterji, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Gulzar. He also produces and directed some movies including Besharam (1978).

He has been awarded as Filmfare Best Comedian for Chori Mera Kaam, Chor Ke Ghar Chor and Angoor. He also played important role in Judaai, Dil To Pagal Hai, Kora Kagaz and may more. Apart from Hindi films, Deven acted in couple of Marathi and Bhojpuri movies.

Born on 23rd October 1937 and raised up in Pune, Deven Verma did his graduation with Honors in Politics and Sociology.
